Kip leaned back and turned his body toward me. “Tell me it won’t happen to us,” he said, and pressed his head against my shoulder. His statement and sudden action left me with a loss of words, and I instinctively pulled his body closer to mine. The rest happened so quickly, impulsively. We began kissing each other, clothes were discarded, Kip pressed a condom in my hand, and I slipped it on. Instantly he was on top of me, and the night took on an urgency and passion I had never expected or experienced before. Feeling myself inside Kip, I grew dizzy; the friction of our bodies together, skin against skin, unleashed a measureless combination of pleasure and sweat. When he pulled off of me, the chill of the night air against my damp body felt bristly and awesome. As we lay there momentarily apart, I noticed the flash of red lights just beyond the cemetery wall. Kip noticed them, too, and he jumped up and grabbed his clothes.
