What's In A Name? Velvet Mafia's Titles Revealed

Issue 1: The Legacy Begins...
Wanting to tie into a “Mafia” inspired history, we launched our first issue, beginning a legacy of quality gay male fiction and erotica.

Issue 2: The Rite of Passage
Every man goes through a rite of passage, whether it be mentally, physically or sexually (sometimes all three in one weekend), we marked our second issue online as ours.

Issue 3: Attacking The Clones
A spin on Star Wars’ Attack of the Clones, we fought against our own “circuit” assimilation, which has sadly gone global.

Issue 4: Feed Your Fist
In short, our mission statement. A fist is something you use for empowerment (Rights Now!), to defend yourself and what you wrap around your dick when you jerk off. Velvet Mafia stands for all three.

Issue 5: Read My Bush
A twist on Bush Sr.’s “Read My Lips” lie, where our Bush certainly means our bush… you don't have to look far for the meat.

Issue 6: The Princeton Gun Rub Club
A term from the early 1900’s, the “Princeton Rub” was a sexual practice akin to frottage where two men rubbed against each other, stomach to stomach, to achieve climax. This sex without penetration allowed men to experiment without feeling they’d committed the act of sodomy. This practice was to have originated at Princeton University. But we threw a gun into the mix for a little extra stimulation...

Issue 7: Knives and Roses
The cross between the dangerous and the beautiful, to which we are typically drawn. This title was taken from a story by Sean Meriwether, forthcoming in Skin & Ink.

Issue 8: Deviate or Die
Paraphrasing one of our queer forefathers, William Burroughs, who said: “In the U.S. you have to be a deviant or die of extreme boredom... Make no mistake; all intellectuals are deviants in the U.S.”

Issue 9: My Own Private Mayhem
A toxic blend of My Own Private Idaho and Chuck Palahniuk’s “Project Mayhem”, taken from Fight Club.

Issue 10: The Binds that Tie Us
Started as a dyslexic typo for a story which is forthcoming in Out of Control: Erotic Wild Rides. This issue included stories about being bound, physically and emotionally.

Issue 11: A Freight Train Named Desire
A sexually elevated thrust over Tennessee William's milder “Streetcar”.

Issue 12: Love the Sin, Fuck the Sinner
My Fuck You to the religious right, which is trying to dominate the world, even though they are in the minority.

Issue 13: The 13th Man
Title lifted from a film noire 50’s murder mystery, in honor of our 13th issue.
